1 – What drew you to the Civint fellowship experience?
“I was particularly drawn to the Civint fellowship experience because of the opportunity that it presented to gain access to the functions and development of municipalities across the country. The ability to gain a deeper understanding of civic intelligence and best practices for tackling tough policy issues is absolutely invaluable– not to mention it being extremely exciting work.”
2 – What has been your most impactful professional experience as a Civint fellow at this point?
“It is difficult to identify a singular experience that I can identify as being the most impactful throughout the course of this fellowship experience, but what I have enjoyed most are the countless networking opportunities that we have had access to as Fellows. The rooms, doors, and introductions are a consistent reminder that we don’t only achieve civic intelligence by what we know or who we know, but most especially by who knows us.”
3 – How will you be able to take your Civint experience and translate it into your professional portfolio?
“I believe that the most relevant manner in which my Civint experience will translate into my professional portfolio is through broadening my capacity as a community advocate, underscoring my ability to decode the impact of laws and policies, and strengthening my understanding of strategic partnerships and their importance.”
4 – What would you say to the next class of fellows that could help them get the most from the experience?
“To the next class of fellows, I would advise them to take advantage of every opportunity to absorb intelligence from the people around them. Being constantly surrounded by information will likely trigger you to become more solution-oriented, so it is important to be confident in what you bring to the table. Unconventional does not need to mean unimaginable– dare to be different.”
